They talk about NEA

At the beginning of the year, we’ve had a wonderful ‘Evening with Kim Ismay’ when Kim was playing Madame Morrible in Hong Kong during her International Tour with the  well-loved musical ‘Wicked’. Kim has been a Director and Fellow of New Era Academy of Drama and Music (London) since 1997, and a talk was specially organized on 9 January 2017 for parents and students of NEA so that we could listen to Kim’s stories. She was a most inspiring speaker who has given us a lot of food for thought. That evening, she’s shared with us her life in the theatre, her memorable experiences and encouraged us to face life’s challenges in a positive manner.

‘Everyone teaches you something. Keep learning and improving’. Even though Kim has been an acclaimed West-End London actress for years, she never gives up improving and sharpening her skills. ‘You have to love what you do. Aim for the moon. And if you miss, you’re among the stars.’

In May and June 2017, we’ve had the third year of NEA HK Examinations since NEA’s launch in Hong Kong in 2014. Over the years, students have always enjoyed their exams as they are placed in a comfortable environment where they can perform their best. NEA requires high standards of work, but has the ethos that students, especially young children must have a pleasant examination experience in order to nurture their growth. This year, we were privileged to have Mrs. Ann Jones from the U.K. to be our Examiner. Having been a dancer, choreographer and teacher for many years, she has given NEA students a lot of positive encouragement and constructive comments for future improvement. We look forward to another successful year with NEA.
