I never had the opportunity to say this, but I must thank Ms Robyn for giving me a voice! I was a terribly nervous boy, and Public Speaking was the last thing I’d want to do. I won’t say that I am very confident now, but ‘Stage Fright’ has certainly been deleted from my long list of worries! I went to Myanmar last July and I actually taught a bit of Public Speaking there. It was suddenly at that moment that I realized how far I’ve come: from shaky hands and sweaty forehead to being confident enough to teach other how to speak in public. I can’t thank Ms Robyn enough for everything.

Ms Robyn’s lessons are more than speech training sessions. With great patience and skills, the tailor-made classes suited my needs. Not only was my use of language enhanced, I’ve also become more confident in expressing myself to different people around the world. I’ve been with Ms Robyn since I was 5 years old. She is an important person in my life. Even though I’m studying abroad now, I still keep in contact with her. I am thankful to have her as my teacher for the past 9 years. She’s a great teacher who knows how to push her students to their limits with her encouragement so that her students would excel. She encourages us to be creative and has helped me gain confidence on stage to perform in front of a live audience. In her classes, I’ve learnt to appreciate English literature, and have now developed a hobby in reading all different genres of books and stories.

Having done some 10 years of speech training, I find myself greatly changed. Once, I was a nervous boy wracked with stage fright, stuttering as he spoke. But now, I feel free on the stage, my thoughts able to condense into words and the art of speeches is simply an experience of pure bliss.

I started to have Speech and Drama training with Ms Robyn when I was in P2. Nearly a decade has passed, and I have changed immensely. Apart from improvements in my writing and presentation skills, I have also adopted a more positive attitude towards learning. With this training, I now have courage to speak in front audience to present my ideas.

8 years of Speech and Drama has benefitted me a lot. I now have the courage to stand in front of an audience to deliver my very own speech. The training lets me express my feelings and convey my ideas to an audience in my own special and unique way. I always enjoy my classes.

Learning Speech and Drama has been great fun and it’s been very beneficial. It has helped me gain confidence when speaking in front of an audience, which I definitely had problems with before. It has also brought me many different performance opportunities such as Speech Festivals and Speech and Drama Examinations and Musicals. Most of all, it has exposed me to a variety of books and helped me study literature in a deeper manner so that I’m able to understand the background of the texts, the plot, sub-text and characters for better interpretation of the pieces. The classes have been great fun and Ms. Robyn has truly helped me grow as a person.

Thank you Ms. Robyn for being such a kind and patient teacher all these years. When I first started classes with her, I was very timid and I had little confidence in myself. However, after 6 years of her guidance, kindness and patience, I am proud to say that I now consider myself as an outspoken person, full of confidence and able to engage strangers easily. I believe that Viva Voce will be a valuable asset in the field of speech training.

Mrs. Hwang (Trina is a Grade 5 student at ISF)
Trina commenced speech and drama lessons with Ms. Robyn in 2016. During this year, Trina’s, communication skills and interaction with others has been greatly enhanced. Ms. Robyn is professional, and she’s one of the best teacher I have ever met. Her enthusiasm and kindness towards my daughter has given her courage, confidence to express herself in front of people. Apart from improving Trina’s English academically, Ms. Robyn also stimulated her to read more and developed her potentials in public speaking, singing and acting. Ms. Robyn has a positive influence on Trina, and I’m glad to have such a teacher to guide my daughter in her growing up.

Our son Toby has been trained by Ms. Robyn Lo for a few years and his steady improvement has been most pleasing. Under the good tutelage of Ms. Robyn, Toby is now able to deliver his speeches with great clarity, fluency and most important of all, confidence.
Ms. Robyn teaches her students with a unique passion and commitment. As parents, we are truly grateful to her for giving our child the gift of speech – a lifetime skill that will prove to be extremely useful for many years to come. Indeed, Ms. Robyn has helped Toby to find his own VOICE, and we want to say a big “thank you” to her.
