Enrolment Terms and Conditions


These Enrolment Terms and Conditions form the contractual terms for enrolment of classes with Viva Voce Speech and Drama Studio Ltd. (“Viva Voce”). By enrolling with Viva Voce, all applicants are deemed to have read, understood and agreed with these terms and conditions.  Please read the enrolment guidelines carefully.

1.      ENROLMENT

1.1    Enrolment applications should be submitted to Viva Voce prior to the beginning of [Term 1/ the classes] in Viva Voce’s prescribed forms (“Enrolment Forms”).

1.2    Enrolment Forms must be completed and signed by parents, and submitted to us with the tuition fees and charges.

2.      FEES

2.1    Tuition fees and other charges are payable on the following bases:

2.1.1.   Full-year Courses – on termly basis, an application fee of HK$500 must be paid upon the submission of the Enrolment Form in Term 1 together with the fees for Term 1 and other charges. The application fee shall be applied towards part of the tuition fees in the last term of the school year. The application fee would not be refunded if students discontinue the course during the year regardless of the reasons.

2.1.2    Modular Courses – all fees and charges are payable in full before commencement of the course;

2.1.3    individual workshop/class basis – fees per workshop/class and charges are payable in full before commencement of the workshop/class.

2.2    Full payment of tuition fees and charges must be received by us before a student’s place is confirmed in the class. For students who enroll and accepted (at Viva Voce’s discretion) partway through a course, tuition fees on pro rata basis and charges are payable in full before attendance for the remaining classes.

2.3    Payments should be made in cash or by cheques (which shall be considered paid only upon clearance by bank).

2.4    Fees paid are non-refundable in any circumstances.

3.      Mode of Instruction

Unless otherwise expressly specified in any particular course, classes are normally delivered and attended in person.  However, Viva Voce has the right to change the mode of instruction in such manner and by such means as it deems fit and feasible with prior arrangement with students.

4.      MAKE-UP / SUBSTITUTION CLASSES

4.1    There will not be make-up or substitution classes for non-attendance of group classes in any circumstance.

4.2    Make-up or substitution classes for private students may only be considered in exceptional circumstances such as illnesses or other unpredictable circumstances and subject to prior agreement for rescheduling with Viva Voce (at Viva Voce’s discretion). In any event, no more than two make-up or substitution arrangements may be made in any one term.

5.      PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

There are no classes on public holidays, except for classes under special circumstances upon prior arrangements by Viva Voce.

6.      CLASS CANCELLATION UNDER ENFORCED CLOSURES OR FORCE MAJEURE SITUATIONS

6.1    Classes may be suspended or cancelled under the following enforced closures:

6.1.1    We do not hold classes when the warnings for black rain or typhoon signal number 8 or higher have been hoisted or extreme conditions are announced by the Government prior to the time of commencement of class (collectively referred as Enforced Closure Situation).

6.1.2    If the Enforce Closure Situation ceases prior to 17:00, classes will resume two hours after the warning has been cancelled. Otherwise, classes will be considered cancelled.

6.2    We reserve our rights to cancel classes in certain circumstances beyond our control under which we opine to be inadvisable, impracticable, illegal, or impossible to hold the classes (“Force Majeure Situations”).  Examples of such circumstances include but not limit to fire, flood, lightning, explosions, earthquakes, hurricanes, energy power shutdown, epidemic outbreaks, strikes or civil unrest etc. 

6.3    There will not be make-up/substitution classes for classes cancelled under Enforced Closures or Force Majeure Situations.

6.4    We may give class cancellation notifications verbally or in writing or through emails or other telecommunication means such as WhatsApp.

7.      FOOD AND DRINK

Consumption of food and drink is not allowed during classes unless special arrangements have been made for a particular class or workshop. In such cases, please advise us of any food or other allergies.

8.      STUDENTS’ WORK

8.1    Students’ work will normally be returned to students after appropriate assessments.

8.2    We do not accept any responsibility for the safekeeping of students’ work. We reserve the right to dispose of or use any students’ work not collected within one month from the last class attended.

9.      CLASSROOM

9.1    Viva Voce reserves the right to set up house rules for the use, access and behavior in classrooms and make revisions and amendments as it deems fit.

9.2    The Classrooms are normally parent-free zone during class time. Parents may be invited to view the progress of their children as opined appropriate by the teacher.

9.3    We promote good manner and civilized behavior, we reserve our right to exclude any student from class in the event of any disruptive behavior or serious misconduct with immediate effect and without notice.

10.   INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The intellectual property of all the classes taught must be respected and treated as proprietary information. None of the teaching or performances material used by Viva Voce may be repeated or reproduced without the prior consent of Viva Voce.  On the other hand, Viva Voce does not accept any responsibility of any breach or infringement of copyright or intellectual property right committed by any third party.

11.   PHOTOS AND RECORDINGS

11.1 Parents may not take any photograph, videos or recordings of any class or performance without the prior consent of Viva Voce.  In the case that Viva Voce’s consent is given it is always subject to the condition that:

11.1.1 parents only may take photographs, videos, and recordings  focusing on their own children and not on the other children in the class; and

11.1.2 the operation of the class should not be interrupted or disturbed; and

11.1.3  any photographs or recording in whatever media taken should not be used for commercial or financial gain.  

11.2 Viva Voce has the right, and students and parents are deemed to have given consent to Viva Voce, to use the photos, videos and/or sound recordings of students during their class works for teachers training, curriculum, and/or promotional purposes.

12.   PERSONAL DATA AND COMMUNICATIONS

12.1 By providing us with student’s details and information, students and parents are deemed to have agreed that we may hold the information for our administrative and operating purposes.  We will not disclose personal data to any third party without students’ or parent’s consent unless otherwise required by law.  Furthermore, we may share some of the information with designated staff to enable them to perform their administrative and operation task for the centre.  We may also use the information to establish communication network (including social networking media) with students and parents and in providing information relating to our services.

12.2 All communication with Viva Voce must be made via designated staff of the center.  Viva Voce does not accept any responsibility relating to communications and exchanges between students or parents and individual tutors in personal capacity. 

13.   DISCLAIMER

We strive to provide a safe environment for our classes. However, we expect our participants and visitors to take reasonable care of themselves, all participants enroll and participate in activities, whether provided solely or jointly by Viva Voce, do so at their own risks. We are not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to students, their family members, and guest arising from or resulting from these activities or accidents occurred in our premises not due to willful negligence or default on the our part.

Summer Courses 2020 – Enrolment Terms and Conditions

2.1.1    Modular Courses – all fees and charges are payable in full before commencement of the course;

Early Bird Discount:

Enrol on or before 16 May 2020 to receive 15% discount

Enrol on or before 13 June 2020 to receive 10% discount

Enrol on 14 – 30 June 2020 to receive $100 discount

Receive an extra $100 discount for each student enrolling in 2 or more courses

2.1.2    Individual workshop/class basis – fees per workshop/class and charges are payable in full before commencement of the workshop/class.
